LitterLoop is a small community pilot. We collect as little as we can, and nothing is sold or used for advertising.

We do not track where you go. The app reads your location on your phone to show the map and distances, but only sends it to us at the moment you post a pin or pick one up.
Photos are re-saved on your phone before upload, which removes the hidden data (such as GPS and camera details) that phones normally store inside photo files.
If you tap Alert me about litter near here, we save that one place — rounded to about 100 metres — and the distance you picked, plus a notification address from your phone's browser. We use it only to tell you when someone leaves litter within that distance: at most 3 a day, and never between 9pm and 8am. It is a place you choose, not a live location — we still never track where you go. The notification itself travels through your phone maker's push service (Google, Apple or Mozilla); it contains only the kind of litter and how far away it is. Turn it off in the Me tab and the saved place and notification address are deleted straight away.
To catch fake or blank uploads, photos may be sent to Anthropic (the company behind the Claude AI) to check that they show litter, or litter picked up. Only the photos are sent — not your name or location. Anthropic processes them to give an answer and does not use them to train its models.
Other users see your name, your photos and where your pins are. The organiser can also review photos to remove fakes.
Open the Me tab and tap Delete my account. Your name, your sign-in code and every photo you took are deleted immediately. Pins that someone else already picked up stay on the map as "deleted user" without your photo, so the other person keeps their points; your pins that nobody picked up are removed.
None. The app keeps your sign-in on your phone (browser storage), and nothing else.
